Our Policies

Terms and conditions

The price of your holiday

Includes all charges, linen and towels (we ask you to bring your own towels for the beach).  All prices quoted at the point of enquiry are valid for seven days only, after this time where we have not received a deposit, any prices can be subject to change.  All prices are quoted in Euros and are paid in Euros unless otherwise agreed you can pay in pounds. 

* Self-catering accommodation ‘Peony Cottage and Chestnut House’ are by the week from Saturday to Saturday (unless by prior arrangement) from 4pm on the date of arrival to 10am on date of departure.  Minimum of 2 nights low season and 3 nights otherwise. 

*Wood View B&B is booked for a minimum of 1 night in low season and 2 nights otherwise (unless by prior arrangements) from 3pm on date of arrival to 11am on date of departure.

The time lapse is to enable the properties to be inspected in between guests and to ensure everything is in good order.

Confirming a Booking

At the time of receiving your request to proceed with your booking you will be asked to supply your full contact details. We will require the details of the persons to be staying at the property.  You will be required to pay an initial deposit of 30% of the total amount of the holiday (unless it is 8 weeks prior to arrival in which instance we would require the full amount at this stage).  Please note, once a payment has been made, this will confirm your acceptance of our terms and conditions.  Upon receipt of your payment we will send you confirmation and will hold the selected property for the requested dates for you.  Please note that the booking deposit is non refundable in case of cancellation or change to a booking unless we are able to re-let the specified days/week for listed price.

Payment of Balance

The balance of your holiday is due in cleared funds 8 weeks prior to your arrival date.  If the funds are not received by this time, the booking will be treated as a cancellation, the dates will be released and any reinstatement would be treated as a new booking where the full amount would be due.  Upon receipt of the final balance the directions will be sent to you.  *Please note any transfer fees must be paid by the client, and the client name must be included on the payment details where possible.

Cautionary Deposit

A cautionary deposit is required in clear funds, a minimum of one week prior to your arrival date.  Please note cheques are not accepted for damage deposit payments.  Where a cautionary deposit is paid by bank transfer it will be refunded by bank transfer, please provide us with your bank details to refund accordingly.  The cautionary deposit will be refunded within 14 days of your departure from the property less any costs incurred, but only upon receipt of your bank details.  A charge will apply where we are requested to credit an international bank account.  The client is legally bound to reimburse us for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand.  Cautionary deposits are to cover any damage to the property and any contents, extra cleaning costs if the property is not left clean and tidy and in an unreasonable state, neglect, loss or non return of keys.  In the event of damages caused by you, the client, and your party during your stay and costing in excess of the cautionary deposit payment you will be notified in writing of the amount owing, and funds will be due within 30 days of day of departure. 

The security deposit for the properties;

Peony Cottage is 110 euros

Chestnut House is 170 euros

If you Cancel your Booking

If you, the client wish to cancel your booking we will require written confirmation (email is acceptable, but receipt must be confirmed by us).  The cancellation takes effect from the day that the written confirmation is received.  In the event that we can re-sell the full dates that you have cancelled then you will be refunded the monies paid minus 80 euros administration fee.  The refund will be calculated based on the exchange rates at the time.

Cancellation Charges

30% of the total holiday cost.  Where cancellation notice is received after the deposit has been paid and no less than 8 weeks prior to the booking start date.

100% of the total holiday cost.  Where cancellation notice is received after the balance is due and / or been paid and less than 8 weeks to the booking start date. 

Care of the Property

The client shall take all reasonable and proper care of the property, inside the house and in the garden, and any furniture, pictures, fittings and effects in or around the property and leave them in the same state of repair and condition at the end of the rental period as found at the beginning.  The property is to be left in a clean and tidy condition, including all cutlery and crockery cleaned and all rubbish removed and placed in appropriate bins/recycling bins.  On changeover days there is only time for a superficial check and general clean.  We rely upon goodwill of our guests whose co-operation we greatly appreciate.  Should the property be left in a poor condition, requiring more intensive cleaning, then this will be charged at 3o euros per hour and deducted from the security deposit.  If the owner is alerted to concerns surrounding the care of the property, or disturbances, the owner reserves the right for them, or the housekeeper to enter the property to carry out the appropriate checks and are within their rights to ask the clients to vacate the property with immediate effect if found in a neglected or damaged condition.  If the owner is dissatisfied with the condition of the property upon the client’s departure, they may refuse to take a booking from the client again.

Sanitary system

Like most French properties in the countryside, our house uses a fosse Septique (similar to a septic tank.) Please only flush the toilet paper provided and make sure tampons, sanitary pads, face wipes or any other items are disposed of in the waste bins. Flushing any other items can be damaging to the system and in some cases cause blockages, if this happens we may need to deduct any repair costs from the security deposit.

Linen

Sun cream, fake tan, waterproof make-up and hair dye can cause permanent damage to bedding, linen and towels and we ask all guests to take care when using these products. If you plan to use them, we recommend that you bring some spare linen in order to prevent staining during your stay. Although we will make every effort to remove any such stains we reserve the right to charge for replacement items if necessary.

Pets

We regret pets are not allowed.

Party Size

At no time must any more guests be on site at the property than stated on the booking contract, except with prior written agreement.  The owners refuse the right to refuse admittance is this condition is not observed.  If you the client alter your booking without prior request and if additional clients are given unauthorised access to the property, the additional costs incurred will be deducted from your cautionary deposit.

Child-friendly facilities

A cot and a high chair and other child friendly facilities are provided for your use during your stay, these are to be used at your discretion and the owner will not be held responsible for any personal damages that occur as a result of usage.  Please note that we require the cot and high chair to be left clean, and in the condition that it was found.

Arrival and Departure times

It is key that you adhere to the standard arrival and departure times for the property in order to allow us to prepare the properties between rentals.  Check in will be from 3pm to 6pm (if later prior arrange will need to be made with the owners).  Check out is from 11am on date of departure.

Smoking

Please note that all our properties are non-smoking inside the properties.  Ashtrays will be provided on request and clients can only smoke outside within the designated areas.  Clients must use ashtrays provided and clean these prior to departure.  Failing this a charge will be made for extra cleaning which will be 30 euros per hour and this will be taken from your cautionary deposit.

Personal belongings

Please be advised that the Owners do not accept any responsibility or liability for loss of or damage to any of your personal items, belongings or vehicles, unless we are responsible for the damage. In instances where the owner is required to enter the property during your residence please ensure that at least one member of your party is present. 

Property / Maintenance Issues

In the unlikely event that you observe any damage on your arrival or any issues arise during your stay, including maintenance, please contact us immediately so we can deal with your query/complaint.  If you fail to do this then we cannot accept responsibility, if we don’t know, we can’t fix it.

Insurance requirements

Holiday and travel insurance, including cancellation cover is essential for your own protection and we advise you the client, to be suitably insured with an insurance company of your choice.  (Please make sure your insurance cover includes loss of initial payments and cancellation).

Force Majeurre

Compensation payments do not apply where performance of the contract is prevented by risk of war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, technical problems of transport, closure or congestion of airports, cancellation or changes of schedule by airlines or any events beyond or control.  

If the owner cancels your holiday

Although it is unlikely the owner reserves the right to cancel your holiday, if for reasons beyond their control the property is no longer available.  In this event, the owner will inform you, the client, as soon as possible and you will be offered the choice of an alternative holiday of at least comparable standard, if available, or a refund of all monies paid, provided it does not arise from reasons of Force Majeure, as set out above.  If the alternative is less expensive than the property booked you will receive a refund for the difference.  If it is more expensive you will be asked to pay the difference.  The owner will not be liable for any further obligations, compensation or claims by the client.  

If the owner changes your holiday

On occasions it may be necessary to amend the arrangements with you, the client, have selected (such as arrival times etc..) and the owner reserved the right to do so.

Liability

We shall not, except if caused by our negligence or breach of these bookings conditions, be under any liability to the client or third parties for any accident, damage, loss, injury, expense or inconvenience, which may be suffered, incurred or arise in any way connected with the rental.  Nor can we be responsible for any accident, loss or damage of a hiring party to their property, vehicle or personal effects, unless the owners are responsible.
